The Angophora Project

With Jaymie Maley
Gestural and experimental workshop with clay and also works on paper. We will be responding to The Angophora Project, a co-created with community installation exhibiting at The Public Gallery in July.
Participants will make two objects: an abstract clay work using natural materials to make marks and form. We will also make a concertina booklet on quality paper using mixed media such as ink and spray paint.
Jaymie Maley is a Central Coast artist whose interdisciplinary work—spanning painting, sculpture, and installation—is rooted in her connection to local Angophora Costata trees.

A 2023 TAFE graduate and current BFA student at the National Art School, she has exhibited across Newcastle and Lake Macquarie, and been a finalist in multiple emerging art prizes.

Alongside her practice, she mentors adults with disabilities in the arts, and in 2025 was commissioned by Central Coast Council for The Angophora Project.
