Friday Night Wine and Clay

Friday Night

Wine and Clay

$65 – Friday 7pm – 9pm

This is a fun night to hang out with some great people, have a glass of wine and get a little muddy. Your host will show you how to use a pinch pot to create a cup, mug or planter. This is a fun, casual intro to clay, a chance to have a laugh and get your hands a little dirty.

Book now for yourself or bring the whole crew!

  • BYOG
  • Hand building isn’t too messy, but wear clothes you don’t mind getting a little dirty. An apron is a good idea
  • Closed in shoes(no thongs or sandals as there will be sharp tools on the table)
  • You’ll be working at the tables in the hand building space, this class is not on the pottery wheel

The drying, firing and glazing process takes between 4-6 weeks. We’ll send you a message once they’re ready for picking up.

All pieces are dipped into a matte white glaze. This dip glazing is recommended as it will give your work a smooth finish making them easy to clean.

Our Pottery and Wine Night Is Always One to Remember

Centered Ceramics has enjoyed hosting our pottery and wine nights for some time. You will enjoy a glass of wine with some great company while getting a little dirty and creating your own small dish or platter, or a mug or cup.

Benefits of Wine Pottery

Not only does pottery provide you with an opportunity to create something unique and beautiful, but there are also many additional benefits for you to enjoy.

  • Pottery can help reduce stress and improve your focus. Working with clay requires a great deal of concentration, so you don’t have time to be worried about anything else.
  • The movement required to make pottery is quite gentle but still allows for your arms, wrists, and hands to be strengthened. As it requires dexterity and movement of your joints, pottery can sometimes even help alleviate arthritis in your hands.
  • Spending time creating something often boosts your mood – you have an opportunity to temporarily forget about any sadness or problems in your life. It can also boost your confidence and make you a little bit more spontaneous.

Related Services We Provide To Wine Pottery

Even though you may not be able to join us for one of our wine pottery evenings, we are confident you’ll find one of our courses that is ideal for you.

  • One of the workshops we offer is mug building, where you will build and decorate your own mug using a pinch-pot or slab-rolling technique. Once you have painted your mug or decorated it with patterns, we’ll dry, glaze and fire your piece. You’ll be able to collect it within three weeks and show it off to your friends and family.
  • We serve coffee and cake in our café every Saturday between 9 am and 2 pm. Come and enjoy a slice of our delicious vegan and gluten-free banana bread with a cup of coffee or hot chocolate. All our crockery are hand made in our own studio.
  • Our gift vouchers are a wonderful gift idea for you to purchase for your friends or family. You can pay for a course or workshop that you think they will enjoy, and you’ll receive a voucher code so that they can book a date that they find suitable.

How Does Pottery and Wine Work?

Our class is currently limited to seven students at a time due to COVID-19 requirements, and we guarantee that you’ll agree it’s time well spent. You’ll be hosted by our founders, who will guide you in creating your own personalised piece. It’s a relaxed and informal class. Although our Friday evening pottery and wine classes are booked up for some time in advance, we do offer group bookings if you’d like to arrange for a special class with your friends or family.

If you would like more information about any of our pottery groups or classes, please feel free to get in touch with us. We look forward to welcoming you to our studio.
