Mugs, but a little Mad…

Think Alice in Wonderland or Salvador Dali and you’ve got a mug that isn’t just your normal every day coffee cup. This class will have you thinking outside the box and creating a truly original piece.
Honestly the mugs coming out of this workshop have always been a little nutty, now we’re just embracing the crazy 😛

You’ll use one of two techniques; Pinchpot, where you pinch down into a ball of clay with your fingers and slowly build up your mug.
Or Slab Rolling, where we’ll roll out a perfectly thick piece of clay, cut it, roll it into the sides of your mug, then attach the base. Once the vessel part of your mug is complete you’re free to decorate how you see fit. Stripes? Four handles? Koala ears?

It is a wonderful course to do with the family. Children under 12 are welcome when accompanied by a parent.

This is a 3 hour workshop and costs $89 per person. Once finished, we’ll dry, glaze and fire your pieces, ready to pick up within 2-3 weeks.
