Exploring watercolour and underglaze on tiles

$330 – Six session course
Mondays 6:30-9:00pm – Jan 7th, 14th, 21st & 28th

This class is designed for anyone interested in learning watercolour painting with the goal of translating those skills onto their own ceramic pieces. Whether you’re a potter, a ceramic artist, or simply curious about developing an illustrative decorative style, this course will gently guide you through the foundations of watercolour on paper. 

You’ll learn how to control water, mix paints, build tone, and create designs that can later be applied to your ceramic work. With over a decade of teaching experience, including positions in Artest, WEA, Private workshops in Sydney and at the Gosford Gallery-Tania Mason brings clear, supportive instruction to help you grow your skills and creative confidence. 

What to Expect 

Over the 6-week course, you will: 

  1. Introduce two types of design based only in watercolour, with students purchasing their own A4 watercolour paper/cheap watercolour paints/brushes
  2. Watercolour Design test on paper
  3. Watercolour Design test on paper
  4. Test tiles (small, ready-made samples for students to practise application)
  5. Make own tiles
  6. Final glaze design application
What to Bring
  • A4 watercolour pad ( Arches, Fabrioano, Canson) 
  • Reeves set pots or Reeves watercolour set packs
  • Cheap round brishes sizes 0.1.2.4. 6. + some square
  • Pecil/ink pen
  • rubber
  • pallette.

FAQ

Cancelations/Refunds – Bookings are final. No refunds or exchanges are given if you choose to cancel your course within 72 hours of class commencement. If you need to change your booking before the 72 hours please check your confirmation email, as there is a “View/Change Booking” button there that you need to click on. Then just change your booking to the next available class.

Paper – You will need to bring your own paper. We will contact you with suggested paper and where to purchase

Minimum – We will need a minimum of 4 attendees to run
